There are a number of legal requirements that must be fulfilled for a wedding in Northern Cyprus to take place, but these are relatively straight forward with the right guidance from an experienced wedding planner.

To take away the stress of organising that special wedding day in North Cyprus, there are now professional people that can assist you with your wedding attire and the organisation of the big day.

Short paragraph of History By Susan 2009

For centuries Cyprus has been influenced by the cultures of many different nations, which has led to an island with a rich and diverse historical and architectural heritage. From soli and vouni in the west, Arabahmet Pasha Mosque in Lefkosa to Salamis and the site of Apostolos Andreas in the east there is much to reflect 9,000 years of civilization.

The island has been occupied by succession of peoples from Europe and Asia. In the 8th Century BC it was part of the Assyrian empire, then the Babylonian, Egytian and Persian. In 58BC the island was seized by the Romans. Richard the lion heart settled on the island in 1191 during the third crusade and after selling it to the Knights Templar permitted Guy de Lusignan to buy the island. Cyprus remained in Lusignan possession until captured by the Venetians in 1489. From 1571 to 1878 the island was ruled by the Ottomans until they leased its administration to Britain. Independence was granted in 1960, but after Greek Cypriot and Greek military coup in 1974, Turkey was forced to intervene to safe guard the interest of the Turkish Cypriots. The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus was subsequently proclaimed in 1983.

Northern Cyprus has often been described as 'the Mediterranean the long lost dream of your childhood', with the "clear, calm". and sheer natural beauty. Whilst most of the Mediterranean has succumbed to the excesses of mass tourism, North Cyprus is one of the few places where tourism fits in with the locals, rather than the other way round.

Indeed, a North Cyprus Holiday; its so fascinating that they say that the air here smells of jasmine and honeysuckle!. Information & facts on Northern Cyprus

Cyprus is the most easterly of the Mediterranean islands and the third largest in the area after Sicily and Sardiniain the Mediterranean. At the nearest coastal pointsit is 40 miles from Turkey, 60 miles from Syria, and 250 miles from Egypt.

North Cyprus is some 100miles long, 40 miles across at its widest point and has a total area of1357 square miles, comprising nearly 36% of the island of Cyprus.

The geography of North Cyprus is characterized by a unique blend ofmountains, plains, and beaches. The Kyrenia  (Beşparmak/ Five Finger) mountain range, with its magnificent jagged limestone peaks, the highest of which is Mount İçova at 3,357 ft. runs along most ofthe northern coastline from a startling backdrop.

To the eastof the island the mountain range loses height as it extends along thenarrow peninsula known as Karpas,or more affectionately, `The Panhandle'.

It is here that the best beaches of Cyprus can be found, long wideempty bays of the purest sand that stretch for miles.

Cities and the towns

To the south of the Kyrenia range lies Nicosia (Lefkoşa)(population 39,000), the capital of North Cyprus, through which runsthe boundary, or as it is called `The Green Line' separating the Northfrom South Cyprus.
